Privacy Policy
This policy explains what we collect when you use Progrmatic, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
When you sign in with GitHub we receive your GitHub login, display name, avatar, and email address. As you use the platform we store your purchases and order metadata, your learning progress (which lessons you have viewed or completed), and — if you use GitHub collaboration — the repositories you link and related collaboration records.
How we use your information
We use this data to authenticate you, grant access to the content you are entitled to, process orders, track your progress, enable instructor collaboration and review, and operate and improve the platform.
Payments
Payments are handled by our payment provider — currently ECPay, and we may add others over time. Your card details are entered with the provider and are not stored on our servers; we retain only the order and transaction metadata needed to fulfil and support your purchase.
Video playback
Course videos are served by our own video streaming service, which we operate ourselves — it is part of our platform, not an outside company. It receives only what it needs to authorize and stream lessons you are entitled to.
Third-party services
We rely on a small number of outside providers to run the service — GitHub (authentication and collaboration), our payment provider (currently ECPay) for checkout, and an error-monitoring service that receives technical reports when something goes wrong in the app, so that we can find and fix problems. Those reports refer to your account by an internal account number, not by your name, email or GitHub login. These providers process data on our behalf to deliver their part of the service.
Cookies and local storage
We keep in your browser’s own storage (such as local storage) the data the site needs to work for you: what keeps you signed in, your preferences, and things you have started but not finished, such as your cart. This data is used only to provide the service. We do not use advertising trackers.
Data retention
We keep your account and purchase records for as long as your account is active and as required to support your access, comply with legal and accounting obligations, and resolve disputes.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, subject to records we must retain for legal or accounting reasons. Contact us to make a request.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit access to personal data and use established providers for sensitive operations such as payments.
Changes
We may update this policy as the platform changes. Material updates will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.
